F45 Training was established in 2012 in Australia with the objective of creating a group training facility that featured the most dynamic and effective training styles to that date. They sought to find the best types of workouts but also wanted to find a way to vary those workouts every day and make them accessible to the masses.
F45 concentrates on functional training sessions that last 45 minutes – hence the name F45 Training. Today, F45 has 450+ locations across Australia (with more opening all the time) and they claim to be the fastest growing fitness network in the world.
The F45 concept is simple: their studios all over the world offer a 45 minute high intensity, circuit training workout class for members fully supervised by instructors. They have developed 27 different 45 minute workouts, with more always in development. Their studios offer the same class at different times throughout the day. Every day throughout the week offers a different 45 minute workout. The workouts are created by the F45 Athletics and Peak Performance Department from a database of over 3,000 different exercises, so members never get the same workout twice.
F45 Training is not like a normal gym. To find out when you can train, you must check with your local studio’s class timetable. Classes usually run every 45 minutes in the morning, at lunchtime and after work. Weekend classes may only run at limited times.
Membership and Pricing Guide
F45 Training have a number of membership and casual pass options available. You can usually commit for 3, 6 or 12 months at reduced rates of between $55 and $66 per week ($237-$286 per month). Casual passes are around $35 per visit and you can get discounted 10 or 20 visit passes for around $300 and $500 respectively. Whilst the costs are much higher than most gyms, F45 Training is more like a cross between group and personal training. When compared with the cost of 2-3 personal training sessions per week, F45 Training begins to look much more cost effective.
Free 1 or 2 week trials are often available.
