Zap Fitness is a privately owned Australian company that operates 55+ gyms across TAS, VIC and SA (with the majority in Tasmania). They are a 24/7 gym that focuses on delivering low prices, good equipment and multi-site access.
Zap Fitness are currently offering $0 joining fee (saving you $69) and 2 weeks free. This is a stronger offer than the $24 start-up costs and 4 weeks free offer from September.
Zap Fitness Opening Hours
Like most 24/7 gyms, Zap Fitness clubs are only staffed at certain times but you can get access to train whenever you like. If you want to chat with someone, you need to go during the staffed hours of 10 am – 6.30 pm (Mon-Thurs) and 10 am – 2 pm (Fri-Sat but check your local club as times may vary on these days). Staff are not available on-site on Sundays or public holidays. You may find that there are personal trainers on-site working with clients outside of these hours and they may be able to help with some of your questions.

You’ll find some answers to your membership questions in our FAQ’s section
Is there a cooling-off period after I sign my membership contract?
You have a 10-day cooling-off period during which you can cancel your membership with no penalty and receive a refund (as long as you return your access device and any merchandise you have received from signing up). The cooling-off period commences on the date of signing the agreement (not the first day you use the facilities). You must contact your home club to cancel during the cooling-off period.
Can I cancel my Zap Fitness contract?
You can cancel your membership for permanent sickness or physical incapacity provided you show proof in the form of a medical certificate. A cancellation fee of up to $75 may apply.
If you wish to cancel for other reasons, a cancellation fee applies.
- for 12-month memberships, the cancellation fee is $245 if you have more than 6 months remaining on your minimum term and $195 if it is less than 6 months
- for 18-month memberships, the cancellation fee is $280 if you have more than 6 months remaining on your minimum term and $195 if it is less than 6 months
You must contact the Zap Fitness Customer Care Team on 1300 927 348 or email [email protected] on the website advising of any cancellation request.
How do I cancel my membership after my minimum contract term is complete?
If you are looking to cancel your membership after your minimum term is completed, there is a 30 day notice period (maybe different in South Australia). Any fees due during the notice period must be paid in full. There is an option to cancel your agreement automatically after the minimum term is complete which requires no notice period. This must be established at the time of signing the agreement.
Can I transfer my membership contract to someone else?
You can transfer your membership to a non-member for a fee of $69.
Can I suspend my Zap Fitness membership?
You can suspend your membership for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks within any 12 month period. You will be charged a reduced rate of $5 per week during the suspension period.
What is the minimum age to join Zap Fitness?
Zap Fitness members must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Members under 18 years must have a parent or guardian agree to the terms of the membership agreement and need to join the club in person rather than online.
Ask at your local Zap Fitness club for a full copy of their Membership Age Policy for more detailed information.
